Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to what shops usually ask before the first call.
Getting service
How do I get a machine looked at?
Call or use the service request form. Have the make, model, control type, the exact alarm number if there is one, and a short description of what changed. Photos and a video of the noise are extremely useful. Phone triage is free.
How quickly can you respond?
Phone triage the same day. On-site timing depends on what is already scheduled and where you are, but down machines take priority over routine work, and you will get an honest window rather than an optimistic one.
Do you work nights, weekends or shutdowns?
Yes. A lot of the best work happens during shutdown weeks and off-shifts precisely because the machine is free. Off-hours work is quoted up front.
Do you have a minimum charge?
Yes, there is a minimum on-site charge that covers the trip and the first block of labor. It is quoted before anyone drives out — no surprises on the invoice.
Scope & capability
What brands do you service?
Factory training on DMG Mori, Makino, Haas, Brother, OKK and Doosan / DN Solutions, plus general machine tool service on Mazak, Okuma, Mori Seiki, Hurco, Toyoda, Kitamura, Matsuura, Fadal and most other makes running Fanuc, Siemens or Mitsubishi controls. See brands we service.
Do you sell machines?
No. Service is the entire business. That is deliberate — it means our recommendation is never influenced by a machine sale.
Can you fix a machine the dealer has given up on?
Often, yes. Orphaned and legacy machines are a regular part of the work, especially older OKK, Fadal, Cincinnati and Mori Seiki equipment. We source parts through OEM and aftermarket channels and will tell you honestly when a machine is past economical repair.
Do you do retrofits or control upgrades?
We evaluate them and support the machine side of a retrofit project. For a full control retrofit we will point you at the right specialist rather than pretend otherwise — and then handle the alignment, geometry and commissioning afterward.
Pricing & parts
How do you charge?
Hourly for on-site labor, with travel time billed at a lower rate. Rates are quoted up front, and any parts over a nominal amount get a written quote before they are ordered. Maintenance plan customers get a discounted labor rate on repair work between visits.
Do you carry parts?
Common consumables and wear items travel with the van. Everything else is sourced — OEM where it matters, quality aftermarket where it makes sense and you approve it.
Will you give a second opinion on someone else's quote?
Yes, and it is one of the more common calls we get. A spindle or ballscrew quote is a big number; it is worth having someone with no stake in the sale look at the machine.
Maintenance & government
Do you offer preventive maintenance contracts?
Yes — three levels, priced per machine, with written condition reports. See maintenance plans.
Are you insured?
Yes. Certificates of insurance are available on request and can be issued to your company before the first visit.
Do you take government contracts?
Yes. Active SAM.gov registration, self-certified SDVOSB, UEI XSD9M6G66CD3, CAGE 20GP4. See the government page.
