About Chief's CNC Services

The background

Chief's CNC Services was founded in 2022 in Neosho, Wisconsin, after fifteen-plus years of OEM field service work:

• Five years at Makino — factory-trained field service on high-precision machining centers
• Three years at Ellison Technologies — multi-brand distributor service across a broad installed base
• Seven years at DMG Mori — field service and then service management, responsible for both the wrench work and the escalations

Before all of that: a full career in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. The habits that came out of that — show up when you said you would, document what you did, tell the customer the truth even when it is not what they hoped — are the same habits the business runs on.

Why independent

OEM and dealer service is good work, and there is a place for it. But shops kept running into the same three problems: the wait, the layer of dispatch between the caller and the tech, and recommendations that sometimes had one eye on the sales side of the house.

Chief's CNC Services sells no machines. There is no quota, no territory politics, and no incentive to recommend a $400,000 answer to a $4,000 problem. If the honest recommendation is that your machine is not worth repairing, you will hear that too.
